Role Overview

Fireworks seeks a Data Analytics Engineer (Product) to support the product management team in San Mateo, with remote flexibility. This role is ideal for professionals with at least five years of experience who excel at defining canonical metrics for user behavior, system performance, and financials in an autonomous setting.

Key Responsibilities

Define canonical metrics measuring user behavior, product performance, system performance, and financial measures to ensure alignment across teams and senior leadership.
Extend and improve the existing data model while writing pipelines to compute essential metrics.
Partner closely with the data platform team to deploy data pipelines into production adhering to strict engineering standards.
Bring structure to complex and ambiguous business questions using an efficient and correct working style.

Requirements

Minimum of five years of professional experience spanning data science, product analytics, analytics engineering, or related fields.
Proven track record of defining, analyzing, and aligning business users around shared metrics.
Hands-on background in building or working on production data pipelines.
Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or similar programming languages.
Excellent communication skills capable of engaging both technical and non-technical senior stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to operate autonomously when facing open-ended problems.
Ability to work from the San Mateo office three days per week.

Nice to Have

Experience analyzing the performance of developer-facing self-service products.
Production experience using transformation frameworks like dbt or Coalesce, covering models, tests, documentation, and shared repositories.
Background knowledge in AI infrastructure, encompassing inference, GPU-hour metering, and revenue attribution for mixed model usage.
