Role Overview

Homebase is seeking an Applied AI Scientist to work at the intersection of AI, product, and engineering. Key Responsibilities

Drive advancements in large language models and applied AI systems through rapid experimentation.
Own the full model lifecycle from experimentation to production, scaling, and monitoring.
Build AI-powered features addressing critical business problems across product domains.
Develop and track metrics measuring customer impact and alignment with business outcomes.
Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, and data teams on production-ready solutions.
Communicate insights and experiment results clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support leadership and peers with data-driven decision-making.
Improve internal workflows continuously using automation and modern AI tools.

Requirements

Strong foundation in applied modeling and machine learning principles.
Deep experience working with frontier AI models or large language models.
Demonstrated ability to productionize real-time, batch, or streaming machine learning systems.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for model development and data manipulation.
Experience evaluating models based on technical metrics and business impact.
