Role Overview

MoneyLion is seeking an Applied AI Scientist (Generative AI) for a full-time, remote-friendly position based in Kuala Lumpur. This hands-on role suits professionals who want to experiment with frontier AI technologies and transform conceptual ideas into practical, intelligent systems.

Key Responsibilities

Investigate emerging Generative AI tools, models, frameworks, and technologies to integrate relevant innovations into real-world applications.
Create and build intelligent systems, workflows, agents, and advanced applications.
Take AI-powered solutions through every stage of development, moving smoothly from initial concept all the way to production.
Enhance the reliability, effectiveness, and overall quality of AI systems by conducting thorough testing, continuous iteration, and ongoing refinements.
Partner closely with product teams, engineers, and fellow scientists to design and deliver sophisticated AI capabilities.
Ensure the creation of responsible, reliable, and high-quality artificial intelligence solutions.

Requirements

Demonstrated passion for Generative AI and a strong interest in emerging artificial intelligence technologies.
Practical, hands-on background in constructing applications powered by modern AI platforms, models, and tools.
Knowledge of contemporary Generative AI methodologies, including model evaluation, agentic workflows, tool use, AI orchestration patterns, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
Solid technical problem-solving abilities, software engineering background, and sound technical judgment.
Capable of taking full ownership of projects and driving them independently from the initial idea phase to complete implementation.
High curiosity, adaptability, and a dedicated commitment to ongoing learning and self-improvement.
Excellent communication abilities paired with the capacity to work collaboratively alongside diverse teams.

Nice to Have

Previous background in launching production-grade AI-powered capabilities or products.
Practical knowledge in data science, machine learning, analytical techniques, or formal experimentation.
History of involvement in technical communities, open-source projects, research initiatives, hackathons, or personal artificial intelligence endeavors.
Familiarity handling complex systems, analytics, or large-scale data sets.
