Role Overview

Fireworks AI is hiring an AI Field Engineer based in Singapore to help ambitious organizations build, train, and deploy advanced artificial intelligence solutions. This full-time position suits an experienced, hands-on technologist who combines deep engineering skills with strong client-facing abilities to turn complex AI concepts into production systems.

Key Responsibilities

Build end-to-end proofs of concept and minimum viable products alongside client engineering teams directly within their codebases and infrastructure.
Architect robust inference foundations and size deployments to support scaling without infrastructure bottlenecks.
Execute load tests, establish performance baselines for latency, throughput, and cost, and tune deployments to meet specific targets.
Deploy and validate new model families on inference frameworks, determining optimal configurations and serving patterns.
Guide clients on model selection, evaluation methodologies, and fine-tuning strategies including SFT, DPO, and RFT.
Lead structured discovery conversations to understand client challenges, manage technical relationships, and spend time on-site to build trust in person.
Translate recurring client feedback and deployment failure modes into actionable product improvements for internal engineering teams.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a hands-on, customer-facing technical role such as Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Architect, Applied AI Engineer, or technical founder.
Proven ability to build production software and ship code that runs inside external production environments.
Strong proficiency in Python with the ability to read, write, and debug production code.
Familiarity with Kubernetes, infrastructure engineering, and cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Working knowledge of the large language model stack, covering inference trade-offs, model serving, and fine-tuning workflows.
Exceptional communication skills required to interact effectively with machine learning engineers and corporate vice presidents alike.

Nice to Have

10 or more years of experience in technical field or engineering roles.
Direct experience using inference serving frameworks like vLLM, SGLang, or TensorRT-LLM to tune deployments.
Track record of successfully taking generative AI proofs of concept to production-scale deployments.
Background working with hyperscaler AI platforms such as Azure AI Foundry, AWS Bedrock, Amazon SageMaker, or GCP Vertex.
Experience building or integrating agentic systems, tool-use chains, or AI-native developer toolchains.
