About this role

Role Overview

Fireworks AI is seeking an AI Deployment Strategist to act as the core technical link between customers and internal product, engineering, and applied AI teams. Based out of San Mateo with remote flexibility, this full-time position suits professionals with at least four years of experience in a technical, customer-facing environment who want to shape enterprise AI infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Collaborate with Sales to analyze the technical and organizational landscape of late-stage deals and post-sale accounts.
Define clear business cases, deployment success criteria, pilot milestones, and exit strategies for enterprise clients.
Lead the post-sale technical relationship from onboarding and architectural integration to security configuration and performance benchmarking.
Act as the main technical contact for strategic accounts, offering guidance on model selection, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, cost optimization, and agent architecture.
Serve as the technical escalation point for production problems, coordinating resolution efforts with Support and Engineering.
Collect feedback from clients to share with internal product and engineering teams to shape future platform roadmaps.
Lead the technical narrative for quarterly and executive business reviews, identifying expansion possibilities and mitigating retention risks.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's degree.
Bring a minimum of 4 years of professional experience in a customer-facing technical capacity such as Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, Forward-Deployed Engineering, or Deployment Strategy within enterprise software or AI and machine learning.
Possess a strong technical background involving cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure, API usage, and coding skills adequate for debugging customer integrations.
Demonstrate direct hands-on experience with production large language models, covering prompt engineering, RAG, fine-tuning, and agent architectures.
Show a proven history of managing complex enterprise relationships through technical delivery and commercial execution.
Communicate clearly with both machine learning engineers and business stakeholders.

Nice to Have

Background in inference optimization, open-source model ecosystems like Llama, Mixtral, or DeepSeek, and model serving infrastructure.
Prior experience defining pilot criteria, scoping high-value engagements, and writing product requirements documents as a forward-deployed engineer or similar role.
