About this role

Managing international supply chain flows requires handling daily warehouse operations, tracking inventory, and resolving shipping issues on the ground as the infrastructure expands. The Warehousing and Logistics team oversees inbound receiving, storage, inventory control, kitting, and outbound shipments to data center sites and partners, with this position running international operations outside North America. Responsibilities include managing third-party logistics providers and freight forwarders while building processes, controls, and metrics to support hardware growth.

Candidates will handle security-sensitive equipment, make decisions with incomplete information, and communicate clearly with both engineers and external vendors. The ideal person thrives in a hands-on operational setting on a small team, maintaining high standards for accuracy and chain of custody across international shipments.

What you will do

  • Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations across international locations through third-party logistics providers, covering receiving, inspection, storage, cycle counting, kitting, and outbound fulfillment.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy, asset tracking, and clear chain of custody for all infrastructure hardware, compute, and spares from dock to rack.
  • Plan and execute domestic freight while coordinating international shipments, selecting carriers, managing schedules, and resolving exceptions like delays or damage.
  • Manage third-party logistics providers, carriers, and freight forwarders through onboarding, service-level tracking, and performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with data center operations, hardware engineering, procurement, and security teams to align delivery schedules with site readiness.
  • Operate reverse logistics for returns, RMAs, and end-of-life equipment, including the secure handling and disposition of storage devices.
  • Build standard operating procedures, checklists, and controls for warehouse and shipping activities, and train staff and vendors on them.
  • Define and report on operational metrics such as receiving cycle time, inventory accuracy, and freight cost to drive continuous improvement.

What you need

  • Experience managing warehouse or logistics operations for physical goods, including receiving, inventory control, and outbound shipping.
  • Hands-on experience with a warehouse or inventory management system and comfort using spreadsheets for data analysis.
  • Experience managing third-party logistics providers or carriers, including negotiating service levels and holding vendors accountable.
  • Working knowledge of domestic freight options and the documentation required for them.
  • Familiarity with safety and regulatory requirements for shipping and storing IT or electronic equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across technical and non-technical teams and external partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes from scratch and maintain operational reliability as volume and complexity increase.
  • Ability to travel to warehouse and data center sites in the US as needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience handling data center or enterprise IT hardware, including servers, GPUs, and networking equipment.
  • Experience with international freight forwarding, customs brokerage, and export control requirements such as EAR.
  • Experience with secure chain-of-custody programs, asset tagging, and data-bearing device sanitization or destruction.
  • Experience directly managing warehouse staff or contract labor.
  • Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems and lean or Six Sigma continuous improvement methods.
