TPM Manager, Infrastructure
About this role
Leaders who relish the challenge of rolling up their sleeves to execute foundational IC work before scaling a team will thrive in this environment. Anthropic operates within the infrastructure organization to build and maintain the complex systems required for model training, product serving, and engineering support. This TPM Manager will personally drive two to three critical programs—such as datacenter bring-ups or cloud scaling—while simultaneously hiring, coaching, and structuring a rapidly expanding technical program management team.
This position exists because the company's compute and facility demands are growing at a breakneck pace across physical datacenters and multi-cloud providers. A successful candidate brings deep technical fluency across hardware and software infrastructure, paired with the humility to handle hands-on execution and the strategic vision to establish long-term processes for the wider organization.
What you will do
- Own and drive two to three of the highest-priority infrastructure programs while actively building out the supporting team.
- Establish new processes and playbooks through direct execution before codifying them for the broader organization.
- Coach, develop, and scale a team of technical program managers to support rapid company growth.
- Partner with engineering leads to make difficult staffing tradeoffs and maintain portfolio-level visibility across risks and dependencies.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts across infrastructure, research, security, and legal teams to align hardware and software initiatives.
- Communicate complex program statuses, risks, and resource requirements clearly to senior leadership.
What you need
- Bring 10 or more years of experience in technical program management, including at least 7 years directly managing TPMs and scaling teams.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience building a team or function from scratch in a fast-moving, rapidly growing environment.
- Possess working knowledge across physical and software infrastructure, such as datacenters, networking, hardware ops, distributed systems, and cloud platforms.
- Show a proven track record of running large-scale compute or infrastructure programs like capacity planning, cluster deployments, or cloud migrations.
- Communicate complex technical programs clearly to senior leadership and navigate context-switching between IC work and people management.
- Hold a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience.
Benefits
- Competitive compensation ranging from $365,000 to $565,000 USD
- Optional equity
- Visa sponsorship with retained immigration legal support
