Technical Program Manager, Public Sector
About this role
Delivering Claude to government agencies involves navigating complex regulatory hurdles, strict deployment constraints, and distinct security frameworks across federal, state, and international sectors. Currently, this coordination is fragmented across public sector product leads, engineering teams, and external partners, making it difficult to maintain a predictable cadence for new model releases.
As the technical program manager for the public sector, this individual unifies these disparate workstreams to ensure compliant infrastructure, manage cloud partnerships, and streamline authorization programs like FedRAMP. The person in this role acts as the single owner of the program, tracking dependencies, resolving bottlenecks, and turning one-off compliance pushes into repeatable, scalable processes. Ideal candidates possess a strong background in technical program management, have experience deploying software into restricted or regulated environments, and thrive in ambiguous situations by bringing order to complex cross-functional challenges.
What you will do
- Manage the end-to-end program for deploying new Claude models into public sector environments by handling sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs across research, infrastructure, cloud partners, safeguards, and compliance teams.
- Drive FedRAMP and similar authorization programs for public sector offerings in close collaboration with privacy, security, compliance, and platform engineering teams.
- Plan and sequence work across various public sector segments, covering model and API availability, application parity, and segment-specific product requirements.
- Represent public sector requirements during model launch planning alongside launch technical program managers.
- Establish a clear operating rhythm that provides a single view of workstreams, owners, dependencies, risks, and status through structured planning and escalation paths.
- Convert recurring coordination efforts into documented, repeatable processes so that each subsequent segment or model launch requires less bespoke effort.
What you need
- Bring several years of experience in technical program management with a verified track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional programs.
- Demonstrate experience shipping software or infrastructure into regulated or restricted environments such as government clouds, air-gapped deployments, or FedRAMP frameworks.
- Coordinate effectively across multiple engineering teams and organizations simultaneously, including research, security, and compliance partners.
- Display high organizational capability to manage multiple parallel workstreams across distributed teams in unstructured environments.
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
- Qualify as a US person due to existing agreements with the US Government that mandate this status for the role.
