About this role

Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems to ensure technology remains safe and beneficial for society. The team manages the Life Sciences Verification Program, which gives verified professionals access to Claude with safeguards tailored for biology-related work.

As the technical program manager, you will serve as the single owner driving the expansion of these life sciences access programs. You will coordinate across multiple product, platform, and safeguards teams to define scopes, establish operating rhythms, and eliminate technical bottlenecks. A successful candidate thrives in ambiguous environments and brings structured execution to complex cross-functional initiatives.

What you will do

  • Own the program for expanding access to life sciences verification programs by managing scoping, sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs across teams.
  • Drive cross-org engineering work required for each expansion, ranging from new plan and account types to platform updates.
  • Partner with product managers to translate program goals into sequenced plans with clear owners and delivery dates.
  • Establish clear requirements regarding data access, retention, review processes, and provisioning changes.
  • Identify and remove technical blockers that prevent eligible organizations from accessing life sciences capabilities.
  • Establish an operating rhythm that provides a single view of workstreams, risks, dependencies, and status updates.
  • Convert recurring efforts into documented, repeatable processes to reduce bespoke coordination for future expansions.

What you need

  • Bring several years of experience in technical program management with a track record of delivering complex cross-functional programs.
  • Demonstrate experience coordinating across multiple engineering teams and organizations simultaneously.
  • Engage meaningfully with engineers working across platform, access systems, and product surfaces.
  • Maintain high organizational skills to manage multiple parallel workstreams effectively across distributed teams.
  • Excel in unstructured environments with an ability to bring order to chaos and create clarity in ambiguous situations.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence without authority.
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

  • Experience working on cloud or platform programs

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Optional equity donation matching
