The Technical Program Manager, Apps Platform position at Anthropic is an exciting opportunity based in San Francisco, CA or Seattle, WA, designed for professionals who excel at connecting engineering and product teams. This role suits individuals with a strong background in technical program management who want to unify foundational platform capabilities across consumer and developer products.

Role Overview

Anthropic is actively seeking a Technical Program Manager to serve as the connective tissue for shared platform capabilities that power products like Claude, Cowork, and Claude Code. The primary goal is to ensure that internal product teams gain measurable leverage and velocity by building on top of a reliable, common foundation.

Key Responsibilities

Own the cross-Apps platform roadmap end to end, carefully managing sequencing, dependencies, and tradeoffs between platform teams and consuming apps teams.
Align platform engineering efforts with real consumer needs to guarantee active adoption and prevent disconnected workstreams.
Identify duplication across various surfaces and convert those redundancies into shared platform capabilities.
Establish an efficient operating rhythm encompassing planning, status updates, escalation paths, and launch coordination.
Produce comprehensive program documentation, including roadmaps, status reports, risk assessments, and communication plans.
Facilitate critical technical decision-making by bringing together stakeholders to drive consensus and resolve blocking issues in a timely manner.

Requirements

Several years of professional experience in technical program management, showcasing a proven history of delivering complex cross-functional programs.
Direct experience with platform engineering initiatives, such as shared services, developer platforms, or common capabilities utilized by multiple product teams.
Demonstrated success in driving platform adoption across consuming teams where adoption relied on peer choice.
Experience coordinating simultaneously across multiple engineering teams and distributed organizations.
Highly organized approach to managing parallel workstreams in unstructured, ambiguous environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence without formal authority.
A genuine passion for Anthropic's mission and the safe, reliable deployment of artificial intelligence capabilities.
Minimum education requirement of a Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
Ability to meet the location-based hybrid policy, which expects staff to work from an office at least 25% of the time.

Skills and Tools

Program management methodologies for cross-functional alignment and roadmap execution.
Developer platform and shared services coordination.
Risk assessment and technical documentation creation.
Stakeholder facilitation and consensus-driven decision making.

Salary and Benefits

Annual salary range spanning from $365,000 to $435,000 USD.
Competitive compensation and benefits package.
Optional equity donation matching.
Generous vacation time and parental leave.
Flexible working hours and collaborative office environments in San Francisco and Seattle.
Visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates, supported by an on-retainer immigration lawyer.
