About this role

A candidate who enjoys working within a fast-paced, technical environment and is interested in the intersection of AI robotics and operational efficiency would find this internship suitable. This role is situated within the Global Supply Management team at Figure, an AI robotics company focused on developing humanoid robots with human-level intelligence for various markets. The primary objective of this internship is to support the team in developing and refining the toolset used for supplier ramp and sourcing readiness as the company moves through its prototype builds. Ultimately, the intern will contribute to establishing the foundational processes and data tracking necessary for effective supply chain management.

The intern will be responsible for maintaining critical data sets that inform decision-making regarding suppliers and build costs. It offers a chance to gain direct experience in the physical product supply chain for advanced robotics.

This role is ideal for a student looking to apply analytical skills to real-world hardware challenges and contribute to the operational backbone of an innovative technology company.

What you will do

  • The intern will own the sourcing status tracker, maintaining records for parts across current and next build bills of materials, including supplier status and agreement details.

  • The intern will manage the tooling and non-recurring engineering (NRE) tracker, tracking milestones such as kickoff, first article inspection, and payment dates.
  • A key responsibility is owning the build cost baseline and next-build cost targets by normalizing quotes across suppliers.
  • The intern will analyze supplier capacity against the next-build forecast to identify potential supply shortages before build kickoff.
  • Support is provided for onboarding new vendors by collecting necessary documentation for GSM review.
  • Finally, the intern will execute the build kickoff readiness review and document the process for future team use.
