Role Overview

Figure seeks a full-time Inventory Accounting Manager for its headquarters in San Jose, CA. The professional in this position will take ownership of inventory and cost accounting functions, including the deployment and management of end-to-end accounting processes and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee cost accounting and inventory management by tracking and reconciling raw materials, subassemblies, work in progress, and finished goods.
Manage data integrity between the NetSuite ERP and operational systems like MES, PLM, and WMS, and resolve quantity and cost discrepancies.
Maintain cost models that include overhead allocation as well as labor and machine rates.
Analyze purchase price variances, material usage variances, and production inefficiencies to aid in COGS reporting and margin analysis.
Handle capital and fixed asset accounting by maintaining schedules, managing capitalization policies for property, plant, and equipment, and tracking depreciation.
Classify assets correctly between R&D prototypes and capitalizable production assets, and coordinate asset lifecycle management.
Direct the automation of transaction workflows and balance sheet reconciliations, prepare technical accounting memos, and manage lease accounting.
Support external reporting for government grants or incentives, assist with tax compliance, and lead annual external financial audits.

Requirements

Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Possess eight or more years of overall accounting experience, with at least five years focused on cost and inventory accounting within a hardware or manufacturing environment.
Demonstrate deep expertise in US GAAP principles concerning inventory, fixed assets, and leases.
Bring hands-on NetSuite experience, particularly with inventory and manufacturing modules, alongside skills in ERP data reconciliation.
Exhibit a strong background in designing and documenting controls and processes from the ground up in a fast-scaling setting.

Nice to Have

Possession of a CPA designation.
Prior management experience at a high-growth company.
