About this role

Translating business goals into functional AI agents involves taking systems from initial scope through conversation design, tooling, and evaluation to production launch. Sierra builds platforms for customer-facing artificial intelligence agents, partnering with major global brands to transform customer service and business growth. Operating primarily in-person with growing international offices, the team values trust, customer obsession, craftsmanship, intensity, and family balance.

Working at the intersection of product and customer deployment, the strategist owns the entire agent development life cycle while maintaining proficiency in both underlying technologies and client needs. Enterprise leaders rely on this person as a trusted advisor to shape AI strategies and tackle complex business challenges. Ideal candidates combine customer obsession with strong technical aptitude, clear communication skills, and a track record of driving ambiguous, high-visibility projects to successful outcomes.

  • Act as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders, understanding business objectives and shaping AI strategy.
  • Collaborate directly with customer working teams through daily sessions and troubleshooting to maintain build momentum toward launch.
  • Surface unmet customer needs and feed them back to research and platform teams to guide product evolution.
  • Define evaluation metrics and quality standards to drive measurable week-over-week improvements in agent performance.

What you need

  • Demonstrate customer obsession with a genuine energy for understanding business needs and building trusted relationships within complex organizations.
  • Communicate clearly, directly, and persuasively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Apply strategic problem-solving skills in ambiguous environments to break down complex issues, spot risks early, and adapt quickly.
  • Show technical aptitude by engaging directly with concepts like API documentation, data models, system architecture, and engineering tradeoffs.
  • Bring a proven track record of running multiple complex, high-visibility projects simultaneously and driving them to successful outcomes.

Nice to have

  • Experience building or deploying AI/LLM agents in production with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, and prompt engineering
  • Background as a founder, founding team member, or operator who balances craft, ownership, and speed
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or an MBA with equivalent practical experience
