Role Overview

As an Agent Strategist at Sierra, you take ownership of how customer-facing artificial intelligence agents come to life, guiding them from the initial pilot stage all the way to production handling thousands of daily conversations. You operate between product building and customer interactions, transforming complex business challenges into high-performing agents. Your responsibilities include driving the entire Agent Development Life Cycle, serving as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders, partnering with working teams daily, and directly impacting product development by channeling unmet user needs back to the research and platform teams.

Key Responsibilities

Own the Agent Development Life Cycle from initial scope, conversation design, tooling, evaluation, launch, and continuous iteration.
Act as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders, collaborating closely with executives to align AI strategy with business success.
Collaborate directly with customer working teams through daily working sessions, troubleshooting, and keeping builds on track for launch.
Surface unmet customer needs and channel them back to research and platform teams to help shape future company direction.
Define evaluation metrics and quality standards to drive measurable outcome improvements week over week.

Requirements

Genuine energy for customer obsession, understanding client needs, and building trusted relationships within complex organizations.
Clear, direct, and persuasive communication skills tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Strong strategic problem-solving abilities in ambiguous environments to break down complex issues, spot risks early, and adapt quickly.
Solid technical aptitude, including comfort with reading API documentation, grasping data models and system architecture, and following engineering trade-offs.
A proven track record of ownership and delivery, running multiple complex and high-visibility projects simultaneously.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience building or deploying AI or LLM agents in production, including familiarity with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, and prompt engineering.
Background as a founder, founding team member, or operator who balances craft, ownership, and speed.
A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, alongside an MBA or equivalent practical experience at the intersection of technology and business.
