Role Overview

In this capacity, the professional will own one or two focus areas—spanning identity and secrets management, developer security, infrastructure security, and secure frameworks—while contributing to broader priorities. Much of this work is greenfield architecture requiring minimal oversight. Responsibilities include resolving ambiguous technical challenges, performing threat modeling to uncover systematic risks, and mentoring other engineers to expand security ownership across the wider organization.

Key Responsibilities

Scope, design, and implement complex security systems end-to-end, maintaining them effectively in production environments.
Uncover systematic risks through rigorous threat modeling and risk assessments, subsequently building necessary controls and infrastructure.
Advance developer security programs by embedding protective practices into software development lifecycles and CI/CD pipelines.
Protect sensitive assets such as model weights, training datasets, and customer data through robust identity and secrets management.
Implement and maintain multi-cloud and on-premise security controls, including cloud IAM, network segmentation, and encryption.
Build foundational cryptographic frameworks, mutual TLS infrastructure, and authorization systems to prevent entire vulnerability classes.

Requirements

At least 8 years of professional software engineering experience featuring deep security expertise and independent leadership of complex initiatives.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical industry experience.
Strong programming capabilities using Python or at least one systems language like Go, Rust, or C/C++.
A deep understanding of cryptographic primitives, identity systems, and secrets management.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes security primitives such as namespaces, RBAC, service accounts, and network policies.
Demonstrated capability leading cross-functional security initiatives and navigating organizational dynamics with outstanding communication skills.

Nice to Have

Experience designing or operating identity and secrets management for large-scale cloud or AI infrastructure.
Background building security frameworks adopted universally across an engineering organization.
Leadership in developer security programs, including supply chain security and secure build infrastructure integration.
Familiarity with CI infrastructure using Bazel, Nix, or Kubernetes-based deploy systems.
Implementation of machine identity or workload authentication using SPIFFE/SPIRE or mTLS.
Knowledge of Linux systems internals, multi-cloud security architecture, network security controls, and eBPF runtime monitoring.
