Role Overview

The Staff+ Software Engineer, Full-stack position at Anthropic involves leading technical initiatives across product engineering teams to shape reliable and beneficial AI applications. This role suits experienced technical leaders who want to drive end-to-end development for millions of global users in cities like San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle.

Key Responsibilities

Own end-to-end consumer and enterprise user experiences across platforms like Claude.ai, the Anthropic API, and Claude Code.
Partner with engineering managers, product leaders, designers, and researchers to translate new model capabilities into practical user features.
Drive initiatives across various product teams, including Platform Ecosystem, Beneficial Deployments, Vertical AI Products, Enterprise AI Products, Public Sector, Enterprise Foundations, and Growth.
Build commercial rails, specialized agentic research platforms, enterprise extensions, and scalable identity or security systems.
Mentor peers, establish engineering standards and component architectures, and foster cross-team alignment.

Requirements

A minimum of 8 years of practical full-stack engineering experience.
At least 2 years operating at a Staff or equivalent technical leadership level.
Proven background in leading the design and delivery of complex user-facing products across the full stack.
Experience working in early-stage startups or fast-moving, rapidly evolving environments, including building products from zero to one.
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field.
Ability to meet the location-based hybrid policy by working from an office at least 25% of the time, with location preferences for NY, NJ, SEA, SF, or the Bay Area.
