Role Overview

Enterprise readiness stands at the core of the mission at Anthropic. Large organizations require rigorous standards regarding security, permissions, governance, and end-user deployment. As a Staff+ Software Engineer, the chosen candidate will anchor the Enterprise pillar and design the underlying systems that allow major corporations to roll out Claude to hundreds of thousands of employees. This position operates on a hybrid schedule, requiring employees to be in the office at least 25% of the time, and supports visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute multi-year technical strategies, focusing heavily on distributability and multi-cloud operations.
Personally direct the most complex and high-impact engineering initiatives across multiple collaborative teams.
Act as a primary technical decision-maker for major architectural choices with organization-wide impact.
Collaborate closely with Inference, Platform, Infrastructure, Safeguards, Customer Success, and Go-To-Market teams.
Mentor and foster the growth of Staff-level engineers throughout the organization.
Identify systemic technical risks and build organizational alignment across various business units.

Requirements

Bring ten or more years of professional engineering experience with a documented history at the Staff or Senior Staff level.
Demonstrated success in shaping technical strategy for large-scale enterprise SaaS or Cloud Service Provider companies.
Deep mastery of distributed systems and API architecture.
Strong expertise in enterprise domains including identity, security, compliance, governance, permissions, and connectivity.
Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Nice to Have

Practical experience driving technical outcomes and leading projects through influence, technical quality, and trust without relying on formal authority.
