Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver comprehensive billing capabilities, including payment flows, pricing primitives, contract models, and revenue data pipelines.
Prioritize data correctness, implementing rigorous idempotency, audit trails, and reconciliation processes.
Design and maintain clear interfaces and APIs for internal product teams and financial closing procedures.
Evaluate and make build-versus-buy decisions regarding third-party billing, tax, and payment platforms.
Manage the payments stack, optimizing authorization rates, mitigating fraud, reducing processing costs, and handling automated dispute responses.
Minimize manual operational overhead in enterprise contract amendments, pricing configurations, and billing escalations.
Operate deployed services, maintain service-level objectives, instrument revenue pipelines, and participate in on-call rotations.
Partner across multiple departments to align promotional mechanics, sales flexibility, and financial reporting.

Requirements

Minimum of 8 years of professional experience building backend or platform systems in production environments.
At least 3 years of experience leading complex, large-scale projects or engineering teams as a technical lead.
Proven track record of delivering reliable and maintainable software within fast-moving and shifting environments.
Demonstrated commitment to data integrity and system correctness as foundational design principles.
Strong collaboration skills for translating requirements between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Minimum education of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to work from one of the designated office locations in accordance with the company hybrid policy of at least 25% in-office time.

Nice to Have

Prior experience building fintech, subscription, billing, or payment systems.
Direct background in integrating or extending third-party payment and billing platforms.
Experience working on financial reporting pipelines, revenue reconciliation, or audit preparation.
Knowledge of enterprise commerce systems, including quote-to-cash, CPQ, and contract management.
Background in managing payments optimization, fraud prevention, and chargebacks in self-serve or PLG environments.
