Role Overview

Lendable is looking for a Staff Quality Engineer to take charge of mobile test strategy and automation frameworks for the Zable application. This is an automation-first role where the professional will spend most of their time writing code, creating test frameworks, and utilizing AI-assisted tools to scale testing infrastructure. The person in this role will collaborate directly with software engineers, product teams, and designers to maintain a high quality bar as the customer base scales.

Key Responsibilities

Define and evolve a pragmatic test pyramid for React Native, deciding where end-to-end tests add value versus faster layers like Jest and React Testing Library.
Build agents that perform exploratory testing and catch issues prior to production deployment.
Utilize AI tools daily to accelerate test authoring, cluster failures, surface coverage insights, and propose code fixes.
Discover testing gaps, improve test environments and data fixtures, and actively drive down test flakiness.
Partner with product and engineering teams on shift-left quality by joining specs early and identifying risks before code is written.
Leverage observability platforms such as Datadog, Sentry, and Grafana to connect test coverage with real customer impact and monitor Service Level Objectives.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in quality engineering or test automation, maintaining stable automated suites.
Hands-on experience with Maestro or Detox.
Practical experience writing test code, frameworks, CI pipelines, and helper scripts in a scaled engineering environment.
Background in API and contract testing, alongside test data and environment strategies.
Experience configuring and utilizing Service Level Objectives to define and improve system reliability.
Native AI-assisted working style with demonstrable projects where AI transformed test authoring, failure triage, or coverage analysis.
Track record of shaping CI/CD pipelines for test reliability using tools like GitHub Actions, managing parallelism, artefact management, and runtime control.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience testing React Native applications.
Experience with mobile performance and reliability work covering crash reporting, startup time, and memory management.
Additional background in API and contract testing.
