Staff Developer Advocate
About this role
Creating high-impact technical content, speaking at developer conferences, and serving as a bridge between engineering teams and the AI community form the core of daily operations for this role. Lightning AI builds an end-to-end platform for developing, training, and deploying AI systems, combining developer-first software with large-scale compute through its merger with Voltage Park.
The organization seeks a technical champion to drive product awareness and adoption by producing tutorials, code samples, and reference architectures. Reporting to the CMO and collaborating closely with product management and engineering, the person in this position will channel developer feedback back into product roadmaps while mentoring junior team members. Successful candidates typically bring extensive experience in developer relations or software engineering within infrastructure and AI ecosystems.
What you will do
- Produce educational technical content such as deep-dive tutorials, code samples, technical blogs, and reference architectures that highlight Lightning AI products.
- Raise platform awareness by engaging directly with AI, machine learning, and developer communities through keynote presentations, technical workshops, and hackathons.
- Channel customer feedback into product and engineering groups to help influence product roadmaps and enhance the overall developer experience.
- Build industry recognition and credibility by regularly attending and speaking at third-party technology conferences, trade shows, and press events.
- Mentor junior developer advocates and community managers to foster a collaborative culture rooted in technical depth.
- Establish experimentation and AI-native automation as core operating principles by developing testing frameworks across various content formats and channels.
What you need
- Bring 10 or more years of professional experience in Developer Relations, Developer Advocacy, Solutions Engineering, or Software Engineering within infrastructure, developer tools, and AI/ML technologies.
- Demonstrate deep hands-on expertise in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and modern AI/ML frameworks including LLMs, distributed training, vLLM, Hugging Face, and CUDA.
- Possess a solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, GPUs, distributed systems, deployment workflows for AI models, and agentic development.
- Exhibit exceptional public speaking and technical storytelling skills with a documented track record of keynote speaking, podcasting, community building, and technical content creation.
- Show experience developing technology solutions and evangelizing end-to-end roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing.
- Maintain the ability to work autonomously, handle multiple initiatives simultaneously, and travel internationally when necessary.

What is the compensation range for the role?
The anticipated annual base salary range for this role is between $190,000 and $230,000 USD, supplemented by a discretionary bonus, equity component, and comprehensive benefits.
