Role Overview

Socure is seeking an advanced-level individual contributor to design, build, and optimize machine learning models that power core fraud detection and risk management solutions. In this position, the professional will lead technical initiatives, mentor peers, and drive project success. The work involves hands-on development of deep learning models to address complex challenges in digital identity trust and risk decisioning.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement advanced deep learning models such as transformers, CNNs, RNNs, and graph learning algorithms for fraud and risk use cases.

Build and optimize models across multiple data input types, including tabular information, natural language, images, and point clouds.

Manage the complete machine learning lifecycle, covering data exploration, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, deployment, and production monitoring.

Take ownership of delivery timelines, data quality, and project outcomes while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Mentor junior data scientists, share knowledge, and foster an environment of continuous learning and rapid experimentation.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Risk departments to establish data requirements and guide strategic decisions.

Conduct research into new data sources and novel algorithms to advance fraud detection capabilities.

Requirements

Master's or PhD degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in data science, machine learning, or similar technical fields, preferably within a fintech or high-growth technology setting.

Background in identity verification, fraud prevention, or risk modeling.

Hands-on background developing and deploying deep learning models, including transformers, graph learning, CNNs, and RNNs.

Experience working with diverse data modalities like text, images, tabular data, and point clouds.

Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and major machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and scikit-learn.

Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, data pipeline creation, and model evaluation techniques.

Exceptional communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into actionable insights for both executive and technical audiences.

Nice to Have

Production deployment and monitoring experience, particularly with real-time model inferencing.

Experience utilizing Large Language Models and Agentic AI frameworks or infrastructure such as LangChain, Ray, or LangGraph.
