Role Overview

CertifyOS is seeking a remote-enabled Staff Application Engineer based in Bengaluru, India to lead the full-stack systems that translate provider data infrastructure into reliable products. This position suits an experienced technical leader with a strong background in building and scaling complex application layers for enterprise platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Own the application layer and define how frontend and backend systems evolve together at a architectural level.
Design external-facing API contracts, resource modeling, versioning strategies, and error semantics for enterprise consumers.
Architect responsive application patterns for long-running, asynchronous healthcare workflows including optimistic UI and real-time status updates.
Integrate emerging AI and LLM capabilities into production application workflows while maintaining reliability and smooth user experience.
Establish engineering practices, write clear design docs, and guide technical direction through code review and mentorship.

Requirements

Bring eight or more years of hands-on experience building production full-stack systems with a track record of architectural leadership.
Possess deep backend expertise using Java or another strongly-typed language for service design and performance optimization.
Demonstrate strong frontend architecture skills utilizing React and TypeScript for scalable component and state management.
Understand enterprise B2B product patterns including multi-tenancy, role-based access control, and compliance considerations.
Maintain familiarity with various API paradigms such as REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSockets, and SSE.

Nice to Have

Experience working with microfrontend architectures or large-scale design system libraries.
Familiarity with healthcare data standards like FHIR and HL7 or specific credentialing workflows.
Knowledge of feature flagging, progressive rollout patterns, or A/B testing infrastructure.
Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards for enterprise product environments.
Experience reducing technical debt through iterative architecture migrations.
