Role Overview

CertifyOS seeks an Engineering Manager or Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams in building reliable, customer-facing products. This position merges people leadership, product development, technical strategy, architecture, and execution. The candidate will engage with engineers technically, collaborate with Product and Design, and shape architectural decisions for complex systems while championing AI-native engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

Lead engineering teams focused on building scalable, reliable, and customer-facing products.
Drive the adoption of AI-assisted software development and AI engineering tools across teams.
Own the engineering delivery for products starting from discovery through launch and ongoing operation.
Direct technical architecture initiatives spanning modern full-stack, cloud-native, and distributed systems.
Build, guide, and retain high-performing engineering teams while fostering accountability and collaboration.

Requirements

Possess at least 8 years of overall software engineering experience featuring significant technical leadership.
Bring a minimum of 3 years of engineering management or equivalent technical leadership experience.
Demonstrate strong experience building and operating customer-facing products from discovery to continuous improvement.
Exhibit a strong understanding of Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and distributed systems.
Have experience working with Kafka, messaging systems, PostgreSQL, and relational databases.
Maintain familiarity with NoSQL and document databases such as MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Firestore.
Show strong comprehension of AWS or GCP alongside working knowledge of React and frontend development.
Understand APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous systems, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and cloud-native development.
Display strong knowledge of observability, reliability, security, and production operations.
Possess practical understanding of AI, LLMs, RAG, embeddings, vector search, AI agents, and AI coding tools.
Demonstrate strong communication, stakeholder management, decision-making, and strategic-operational skills.
