Staff Advanced Analytics, Community Blueprint & Quality
About this role
Airbnb needs a senior analytics leader to resolve constraints in the Community Blueprint & Quality team, where customer experience issues frequently require deep root-cause diagnosis. Operating independently through a hands-on and execution-focused approach, this person will deliver high-impact analysis, experimentation, and reporting to inform both leadership strategy and product squad decisions.
Working closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, and Finance, the incoming specialist will investigate core customer experience drivers like cleanliness and check-in while leveraging large language models to scale text analysis. Someone who balances rigorous statistical methodology with business speed, and who communicates complex insights effectively to non-technical stakeholders, will thrive in this environment.
What you will do
- Conduct strategic deep dives into customer experience drivers to identify symptoms, diagnose root causes, and recommend interventions.
- Design, execute, and analyze A/B tests and quasi-experiments to measure the impact of quality and blueprint initiatives.
- Build and apply causal inference frameworks such as diff-in-diff, synthetic controls, and propensity matching to estimate true initiative impact.
- Leverage LLMs and AI-assisted analytics to extract structured insights from unstructured data and scale root-cause taxonomy generation.
- Develop and validate metrics and dimensions that monitor customer experience health and surface emerging quality issues.
- Build and maintain analytical artifacts including queries, dashboards, and readouts to enable stakeholder self-service.
- Translate complex analyses into clear, concise insights and recommendations for senior leadership.
What you need
- Ten or more years of experience in advanced analytics, data science, or applied quantitative analysis.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and at least one programming language like Python or R.
- Proven experience designing and analyzing A/B experiments and applying statistical methods to real-world product problems.
- Experience with causal inference techniques and a track record of applying them to ambiguous business problems.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted analytics workflows, prompt engineering, and using LLMs as classifiers or judges.
- Experience building metrics end-to-end, including definitions, validation, and implementation in data pipelines.
- Strong analytical judgment with the ability to balance rigor with speed and communicate tradeoffs clearly.

What is the salary range for the position?
The base pay range is $180,000 to $221,000 USD. The actual base pay depends on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands.
