Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is hiring a Sr. Software Engineer - Computer Vision based in Palo Alto, California, with remote availability. This full-time position focuses on advancing computer vision and artificial intelligence initiatives for software-defined electric vehicles, making it an ideal opportunity for software professionals specializing in embedded systems and high-performance algorithms.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and integrate advanced computer vision and artificial intelligence features to ensure robustness and scalability.
Analyze and optimize vision and AI pipelines for real-time performance across CPU, GPU, NPU, and other relevant hardware accelerators.
Architect efficient software stacks designed to manage complex computer vision and AI workflows with minimal latency and high power efficiency.
Collaborate closely with product, research, and engineering teams to seamlessly integrate AI models and vision-based solutions into the final product.
Rapidly prototype and iterate on new algorithms to solve challenging perception and inference problems.

Requirements

Proficiency in C++ programming.
Demonstrated experience implementing and optimizing code and compute workloads on embedded heterogeneous hardware including CPU, GPU, NPU, and DSP.
Extensive hands-on experience utilizing computer vision techniques, including libraries like OpenCV, and implementing deep learning inference pipelines.
Strong foundational knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and software architecture.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to Have

Experience working with imaging and video pipelines such as ISP, sensors, RTSP, and H.264/H.265.
Familiarity with visual computing and parallel programming frameworks including OpenCL and OpenGL.

Salary and Benefits

Competitive base salary ranging from $146,900 to $201,950 per year.
Eligibility to participate in the annual company performance bonus program, subject to company results and active employment.
