The professional in this position develops onboard and platform software that transitions raw sensor data into reliable motion for mining vehicles, collaborating directly with machine learning, hardware, controls, and mine operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

Construct and support the onboard software stack for autonomous mining equipment, handling everything from sensor drivers to actuation commands on industrial PCs.
Manage time synchronization and calibration across multiple sensors including LiDAR, cameras, radar, IMU, and GNSS.
Establish pipelines for transferring sensor and telemetry data from vehicles to the cloud, covering logging, recording, and labeling.
Create deployment, monitoring, and fault-management tools for fleet-wide updates and failure detection.
Design equipment simulations and test infrastructure utilizing field log replays, evaluation datasets, and vehicle models.
Integrate with drive-by-wire systems to write low-level control logic, safety layers, and e-stop behavior.
Coordinate with mine operations teams to expose system health, faults, and operational metrics.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Between 5 to 8+ years of experience developing software for robots, vehicles, or physical-world systems.
Proficiency in C++ and/or Python, alongside Linux and robotics middleware such as ROS or ROS 2.
Practical background involving sensor drivers, data pipelines, time synchronization, or calibration for LiDAR, cameras, radar, IMU, or GNSS.
