About this role

Flodesk is hiring a remote Senior Product Manager for AI to lead the development and evaluation of intelligent agent systems that transform email marketing for small business owners. This hands-on role suits an experienced product professional with a strong background in large language models and prompt engineering who wants to shape the future of automated marketing campaigns.

Role Overview

As a Senior Product Manager for AI at Flodesk, you will guide how artificial intelligence understands a business, brand, and audience to turn user goals into complete marketing campaigns. Reporting to the Head of Product, AI Systems and Core Experience, this position goes beyond traditional product roadmaps and specs. You will directly manage prompts, agent instructions, quality definitions, evaluation frameworks, and continuous-improvement loops while partnering with engineers on code and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Manage member-facing AI behavior across prompt-to-create, agentic editing, segmentation, scheduling, analytics, and recommendations.
Create, test, version, and document prompts and agent instructions with clear records of modifications and performance impacts.
Define necessary context, member data, tools, and product states, translating those needs into clear requirements and acceptance criteria.
Own the company's AI evaluation practice, including representative datasets, behavioral scenarios, scoring rubrics, regression coverage, and human review processes.
Run recurring quality-monitoring and evaluation processes independently to set baselines and release gates for system updates.
Review execution traces and complete AI interactions to diagnose failures and coordinate fixes with engineering teams.
Translate member research, support feedback, analytics, and domain expertise into actionable product priorities and experiments.

Requirements

Experience shaping or improving real LLM or agentic products that measurably enhanced user outcomes or product quality.
Practical knowledge of prompts, context, tools, agent behavior, and evaluation methods within production environments.
Hands-on expertise with prompt iteration, evaluation tools, trace reviews, JSON, schemas, and structured outputs.
Strong product judgment to translate ambiguous user needs into clear behavior, quality definitions, and testable hypotheses.
Experimental rigor to design representative test sets, build failure taxonomies, and separate signal from anecdote.
Systems-thinking approach to create reusable patterns without hard-coding assumptions that limit future product surfaces.
Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical disciplines to balance member value, quality, latency, reliability, and cost.

Nice to Have

Prior ownership of AI product behavior, conversation design, computational linguistics, or prompt systems.
Experience building content-generation, creative, or marketing tools.
Familiarity with evaluation and observability platforms like Langfuse or Braintrust.
Previous work on products designed for small businesses, creators, or marketers.
