About this role
This internship addresses the need for motivated students to contribute to SpaceXAI's mission of creating AI systems capable of understanding the universe and assisting humanity's knowledge pursuit. The team is focused on developing key projects such as Grok, the frontier AI model, and Starmind, a satellite constellation for AI compute. This role exists to provide students with hands-on experience applying their programming knowledge to impactful AI projects within a focused engineering environment.
Interns will work closely with mentors and other employees on projects that have a significant impact on the company's goals. The work involves applying academic knowledge to real-world software development challenges. What you will do
- Assist in applying existing knowledge to assigned projects under the guidance of a mentor.

What you need
- Must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree or graduate program.
- Possesses at least three months of software programming or development experience.
- Demonstrated coding experience in languages such as C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- A strong fundamental knowledge of computer architecture and networks is required.
- Experience with software documentation, creating system diagrams, and enumerating software requirements is beneficial.
- Strong skills in debugging, performance optimization, and unit testing are necessary.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.
