Role Overview

This full-time position requires daily on-site presence in Southaven, Mississippi to supervise teams building power generation infrastructure for high-density AI supercomputing facilities. The superintendent manages mechanical crews, enforces safety regulations, and ensures project schedules are met.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate mechanical installations, including gas turbine auxiliaries, fuel gas piping, process piping, pumps, heat exchangers, cooling systems, plant HVAC, and fire protection.
Manage on-site schedules, crew assignments, and project milestones to meet quality and reliability benchmarks.
Ensure adherence to mechanical scope, maintaining detailed logs, red-line drawings, and as-built documentation.
Develop and enforce construction schedules while controlling costs and maintaining budget requirements.
Implement and uphold safety protocols regarding heavy mechanical equipment, pressurized systems, and fuel gas.
Direct foremen and mechanical crews, resolving technical conflicts, material delays, and coordination issues with electrical, civil, and process trades.
Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with mechanical codes, regulations, and quality standards.
Prepare progress reports and risk updates for senior leadership while supporting commissioning, hydrotesting, and turnover to operations.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years of experience managing construction teams focused on large-scale industrial, power generation, or mission-critical mechanical projects.
Minimum of 3 years of direct hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical installations, such as process piping, pumps, heat exchangers, and plant mechanical systems.
High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Ability to relocate within the United States.
Availability to work evenings and weekends based on site requirements.
Ability to lift 25 pounds or more and perform physically demanding tasks in outdoor or confined conditions.
Subject to pre-employment drug screening, background checks, and random drug and alcohol testing.

Nice to Have

Postsecondary diploma or degree in construction management, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
Supervisory experience specifically for gas turbine plants or generating stations.
Knowledge of Memphis-area building codes, mechanical regulations, and industrial permitting, including IMC, ASME, and NFPA.
Experience utilizing construction management software such as Procore, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and MS Project.
Familiarity with power plant mechanical systems like lube oil, cooling water, and balance of plant piping.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, and Project.
