What you will do
- Architect, maintain, and evolve complex software systems by refactoring existing codebases to improve performance and scalability.
- Develop high-performance Rust software for real-time systems, simulation environments, and decision support tools.
- Prototype and deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for tracking, multi-sensor data fusion, and state estimation.
- Design and implement robust filters, estimators, and probabilistic reasoning systems to process noisy or ambiguous sensor data.
- Analyze system performance using high-fidelity simulations and rigorous statistical techniques.
- Drive customer success by customizing algorithms and software for mission-critical use cases and real-time tracking.
- Translate technical progress into clear insights for diverse stakeholders and integrate technologies across the full software development lifecycle.
What you need
- Have at least 5 years of professional software engineering experience alongside a Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as mathematics, physics, or engineering.
- Demonstrate experience managing and evolving software architecture in production environments, including refactoring legacy systems and managing technical debt.
- Possess at least 2 years of experience working on a single codebase or product, maintaining and expanding it as requirements evolved.
- Show a strong understanding of software design patterns, architectural principles, and best practices for scalable systems.
- Demonstrate proficiency in algorithm design, software development, and statistical modeling using Rust and Python.
- Display a solid understanding of applied mathematics, including linear algebra, optimization, probability, and stochastic processes.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
Nice to have
- Experience refactoring and modernizing Rust codebases in production environments
- Contributions to open-source Rust projects or the broader Rust ecosystem
- Experience with concurrent and parallel programming patterns in Rust
- Background in machine learning applied to target tracking and recognition
