Role Overview

Anduril Industries operates as a defense technology company focused on modernizing military capabilities through advanced autonomy, artificial intelligence, and sensor fusion powered by Lattice OS. Within the company, the Discovery team solves complex cross-domain problems by prototyping and testing novel concepts. The Staff AI Test and Evaluation Engineer will architect, build, and maintain the evaluation and validation infrastructure required to transition research models into reliable production environments.

Key Responsibilities

Develop comprehensive test scenarios and simulation environments to evaluate agentic artificial intelligence performance in classified simulations.
Lead the integration and validation of agentic artificial intelligence systems onto classified platforms and edge hardware.
Build reusable evaluation pipelines, automated test harnesses, and monitoring dashboards for continuous system validation.
Establish systematic metric definitions and historical performance capture for both traditional and artificial intelligence models.
Partner with cross-functional groups to define requirements, document results, and contribute to deployment readiness reviews and model cards.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues identified during evaluation and deployment to maintain operational reliability.

Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
At least 12 years of hands-on experience writing production-grade code, including strong Python programming skills for tooling and test harnesses.
Demonstrated professional history of owning evaluation or automated testing infrastructure for production machine learning or software systems.
Practical experience designing evaluation methodologies, defining metrics, and building benchmarks for artificial intelligence models.
Experience designing or working extensively with simulation environments for behavior assessment.
Eligibility to obtain a United States security clearance.

Nice to Have

Background in roles such as Machine Learning Test and Evaluation Engineer, Simulation Engineer, or Software Development Engineer in Test for machine learning systems.
Experience designing test methodologies for agentic artificial intelligence tasking and decision-making.
Familiarity with deploying models onto edge hardware or classified environments.
Experience contributing to model-governance practices, model cards, or deployment readiness reviews.
Familiarity with aerospace or defense test and evaluation practices, such as range operations and qualification testing.
Additional programming proficiency in Go, C++, or scripting languages.
