Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain full-stack applications, platforms, and infrastructure used daily by researchers for experiments and data analysis.
Collaborate directly with research teams to understand complex workflows, resolve pain points, and translate requirements into functional technical solutions.
Create intuitive interfaces and reusable abstractions to make demanding research tasks efficient and accessible.
Rapidly prototype solutions, iterate based on real-world usage feedback, and take total ownership of entire product areas from design to implementation.
Shape technical strategy, guide architectural decisions, mentor fellow engineers, and establish best practices for research application development.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience with a strong emphasis on full-stack development.
Demonstrated ability to iterate quickly, move from concept to prototype, and operate independently within ambiguous environments.
Background in building platforms, tools, or infrastructure designed for technical users like researchers, data scientists, or engineers.
Proficiency in modern web technologies including React, TypeScript, and Python.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Nice to Have

Prior experience creating scientific software, research tooling, or experimentation platforms.
Background in artificial intelligence research, machine learning, or working closely with ML researchers.
Experience founding a startup or serving as an early engineer on developer tools.
Contributions to active open-source platforms, data visualization tools, interactive interfaces, or internal PaaS engineering platforms.
Experience leveraging AI or LLMs to build efficient tools, or past work in creative and artist tools requiring deep user empathy.
