Role Overview

In this position, professionals build complete product features, spanning from front-end interfaces to the underlying application programming interfaces and supporting services. Collaborating closely with design, product management, and engineering colleagues, staff members translate intricate requirements into seamless user experiences. This role involves working across the stack with full ownership of features from initial design phases through production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end product features with complete lifecycle ownership from design to production.
Create robust abstractions and operational tools that allow teams to safely leverage agent workflows.
Partner with cross-functional teammates to define and execute solutions that advance the platform.
Shape architecture choices across the stack by prioritizing clean code, maintainability, and scalability.
Advocate for and implement best practices regarding accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
Develop APIs and backend services when needed to establish clean contracts between frontend and backend layers.
Take part in code reviews to elevate quality standards throughout the codebase.
Identify technical bottlenecks and suggest enhancements for the product engineering ecosystem.
Diagnose and fix performance or production issues across the stack.
Work a hybrid schedule requiring at least three days per week in either the San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY office.

Requirements

At least 4 years of professional software engineering background with significant expertise in React and TypeScript.
Solid command of HTML5, CSS3, and contemporary CSS frameworks like Tailwind.
Familiarity with state management tooling such as Redux or the React Context API.
Capability to design and consume RESTful APIs, along with enough backend fluency in Node.js, Python, or related technologies to extend services.
Understanding of responsive and adaptive design approaches alongside WCAG accessibility requirements.
Demonstrated success in launching scalable, maintainable code within a product-focused setting.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical choices to teammates.
Ability to iterate rapidly on complex user workflows and operate independently.

Nice to Have

Background working with design systems and constructing reusable component libraries.
Exposure to server-side rendering frameworks like Next.js.
Performance tuning capabilities tailored for web applications.
Previous involvement in developer tools or data-centric product ecosystems.
Experience taking full-stack ownership of a feature starting from the database up to the user interface.
