Role Overview

Snorkel AI is seeking a Staff HR Business Partner to lead the people strategy for its newly launched Fellow Program in San Francisco, CA. This hybrid position, requiring three days a week in the office, suits an entrepreneurial HR professional ready to shape a zero-to-one workforce initiative scaling into the thousands.

Key Responsibilities

Design and oversee the overarching people strategy, operating model, and talent architecture for the Fellow Program.
Partner with leadership to establish performance philosophies, growth pathways, deployment methods, and lifecycle touchpoints.
Build and implement tailored performance management frameworks, milestone programs, and early-tenure check-ins to monitor engagement and ramp.
Define career mobility approaches and identify Fellows ready for broader career opportunities within the company.
Collaborate cross-functionally with Recruiting, Legal, Finance, Total Rewards, and external partners to ensure a cohesive employee experience.
Coach senior leaders and managers on organizational design, workforce scaling, complex employee relations, and talent decisions.

Requirements

Eight or more years of progressive Human Resources Business Partner or People Partner experience, including strategic leadership for complex business segments.
Extensive background in designing performance management systems and coaching leaders through tough performance choices.
Demonstrated expertise in workforce planning, organizational design, team growth, and employee relations.
Proven capability to influence senior leadership and lead cross-functional projects without direct authority.
Strong business acumen connecting people operations to broader company goals and workforce capacity.
Exceptional project management and communication skills to navigate ambiguity effectively.

Nice to Have

Background supporting a global, distributed, or employer-of-record workforce model.
Experience working with hourly, operational, services, contractor-to-employee, or high-volume talent pools.
Familiarity building talent programs aimed at technical or AI-adjacent employee groups.
Knowledge of utilizing productivity, quality, and project metrics to drive talent choices.

The salary range for this position in Tier 1 locations such as the San Francisco Bay Area is $190,000 to $240,000 per year, accompanied by equity compensation. Final offers depend on qualifications, experience, skills, and geographic location.
