Role Overview

The Software Engineer, Machine Learning Operations focuses on supporting machine learning models in production environments. Responsibilities include managing deployment lifecycles, establishing model monitoring protocols, and bridging the gap between experimental notebooks and operational edge or cloud hardware. The position requires a combination of software engineering discipline and a willingness to adapt across multiple technical domains in a lean team.

Key Responsibilities

Own training and serving infrastructure, model versioning, deployment, and rollback mechanisms.
Optimize inference pipelines and data flows for large-scale image processing involving detection, segmentation, and classification.
Build and maintain pathways to deploy models onto roadside edge hardware and monitor for performance drift.
Develop observability tools and monitoring systems to catch degradation and maintain model accuracy in the field.
Assist other teams when necessary and contribute across various technological areas as needed by a lean organization.

Requirements

Two to six years of full-time software engineering experience building and running production systems such as infrastructure, backend services, or machine learning platforms.
Strong fundamentals in writing production-quality code, building reliable pipelines, deployment, and observability.
Fluency in Python.
Willingness to understand, evaluate, and debug machine learning models in production.
Availability to work in the Denver office on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Nice to Have

Experience taking machine learning models past the notebook stage including deployment, monitoring, and retraining.
Background in deploying software to edge or resource-constrained hardware.
Experience running proprietary servers rather than relying entirely on managed cloud services.
