Anduril Industries needs a Software Engineer for GNC Modeling to bridge the gap between complex mathematical modeling and real-time defense operations. The Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team requires someone to build high-fidelity simulations of vehicle dynamics, weapon effectiveness, and interceptor performance that directly inform battle management decisions. Operating within a small, collaborative unit, the engineer will create computational models for trajectory prediction, resource allocation, and autonomous mission execution.

What you will do
- Contribute hands-on to a small, collaborative team by applying expertise in modeling, simulation, and control systems.
- Develop computationally efficient high-fidelity models of vehicle dynamics, interceptor performance, and weapon system effectiveness.
- Implement resource models and control systems that inform the allocation and tasking of assets against dynamic threats.
- Build physics-based simulations and mission engineering tools that validate model behavior across diverse operational scenarios.
- Develop trajectory prediction and state estimation capabilities to characterize the movement of threats and friendly assets over time.
- Tailor models and simulations for mission-critical use cases to support customer success.
- Integrate modeling and simulation technologies into the broader command and control software stack through testing and optimization.
- Translate technical progress into clear insights for colleagues, operators, and end-users.
What you need
- Bring three or more years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling.
- Demonstrate programming expertise in Python and MATLAB, with C/C++ considered a plus.
- Possess demonstrated experience in guidance, navigation, and control, trajectory prediction, state estimation, or predictive models for vehicle dynamics.
- Show a solid understanding of applied mathematics including linear algebra, optimization, and statistics.
- Be familiar with path planning and graph search algorithms like A* or D* Lite.
- Have exposure to machine learning applications such as reinforcement learning, learned heuristics, and behavior prediction.
- Demonstrate the ability to write robust, concurrent code for modeling and prediction under uncertainty.
- Be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

The salary range for this role is $129,000 to $171,000 USD, which is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offers may vary based on work experience, education, training, critical skills, and business considerations.
