About this role

The Battlespace Awareness Command and Control Software team at Anduril Industries builds intelligent software integrations and algorithms to solve complex challenges for military capabilities, powered by Lattice OS. Engineers in this position focus on path planning, route optimization, and autonomous mission execution within command and control systems, developing real-time software that orchestrates unmanned systems in the field. Ideal candidates bring strong algorithm design skills and a desire to build deployed solutions that impact real-world operations.

Working within a small, collaborative unit, the software engineer prototypes and deploys trajectory optimization and multi-agent coordination tools. The position suits individuals who thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy translating complex mathematical modeling into reliable code for resource-constrained platforms.

What you will do

  • Contribute hands-on to a collaborative team by applying expertise in path planning and route optimization.
  • Prototype and help deploy state-of-the-art algorithms for trajectory optimization and multi-agent coordination.
  • Develop real-time path planning capabilities that replan safely as mission conditions and threats change.
  • Design high-performance software for real-time command and control systems deployed on operational platforms.
  • Implement robust planners, search algorithms, and decision-making systems for dynamic and contested environments.
  • Analyze system performance using simulations and statistical techniques to validate planner behavior across scenarios.
  • Support customer success by developing algorithms for collaborative autonomy, asset routing, and threat avoidance.

What you need

  • Hold 3+ years of experience in algorithm design, software development, and mathematical modeling.
  • Demonstrate programming expertise in C/C++ and/or Rust.
  • Possess strong knowledge of path planning techniques including graph-based search and sampling-based planners.
  • Bring demonstrated experience in guidance, navigation, and control, trajectory optimization, or vehicle dynamics modeling.
  • Show a solid understanding of applied mathematics such as linear algebra, optimization, and graph theory.
  • Be eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Rust for high-performance, safety-critical software
  • Exposure to mixed greenfield/brownfield codebases in production

Benefits

  • Comprehensive, competitive benefits package available at little to no cost
  • Highly competitive equity grants included in the majority of full-time offers
