About this role

Developers who enjoy being hands-on with models and close to the impact they generate will thrive as a Software Engineer, Forward Deployed at Invisible Technologies. The team builds end-to-end AI platforms that structure messy data, automate digital workflows, and deploy agentic solutions for major enterprise clients. Individuals in this role will work directly with customers and internal delivery teams to scope ambiguous problems, prototype AI workflows, and deploy scalable systems.

The position functions as a blend of AI engineer, software builder, and technical consultant operating in a fast-paced hybrid environment. Success requires an entrepreneurial mindset, strong communication skills to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders, and comfort translating messy real-world constraints into stable engineering solutions.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with delivery leaders to scope technical solutions to operational problems.
  • Identify workflow optimizations through deep engagement with customer problems and work to build into a stable and scalable solution.
  • Design and implement AI-powered workflows using large language models, embedding models, retrieval systems, and automation tools.
  • Translate messy real-world constraints such as inconsistent data and latency requirements into elegant engineering solutions.
  • Iterate quickly based on real-time feedback from operators and clients.
  • Build reusable tooling and infrastructure that accelerates future deployments.

What you need

  • Demonstrate hands-on experience in software engineering or machine learning engineering through professional roles, internships, or coursework and research projects.
  • Possess strong Python skills alongside familiarity with libraries such as PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, or OpenAI APIs.
  • Maintain a solid understanding of data pipelines, application programming interfaces, and production deployment tools like Docker, FastAPI, GCP, or AWS.
  • Show experience building usable systems from messy data and ambiguous requirements.
  • Communicate effectively to explain technical decisions to delivery teams and client stakeholders.
  • Maintain an entrepreneurial mindset with comfort working in fast-moving, unstructured environments and willingness to be on-call for customers when needed.
