Role Overview

The Software Engineer for Developer Experience joins a global team spanning the US and India, with a mission to help engineers work quickly, easily, comfortably, and safely. Based in Hyderabad, this position follows a hybrid schedule with required office attendance on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays as anchor days. The professional in this role will build AI-powered developer tools and remote development environments that significantly improve engineering throughput and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

Build an AI harness designed to auto-resolve bugs reported for the Notion application to improve resolution accuracy.
Improve continuous integration and build reliability to ensure fast feedback when changes break CI, supporting the goal of a 5-minute CI time.
Enhance developer features for the company's in-house, AI-first remote development environments.
Execute a shared roadmap alongside the US engineering team to increase developer satisfaction and enablement based on DevEx survey data.
Collaborate across the company using tools like the TypeScript language server, lint tooling, and the Notion CLI to elevate the day-to-day developer experience.

Requirements

Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience with strong fundamentals and a proven track record of turning ambiguous goals into shippable milestones.
Leadership capabilities to create technical roadmaps, plan and execute large projects, and motivate team members.
Demonstrated innovation, enthusiasm for learning new technologies, and ability to thrive in ambiguity by solving business problems through technology.
Strong ownership and accountability for project and team success combined with excellent cross-functional communication skills.
Experience building or operating developer tooling such as CI/CD, infrastructure workflows, and internal platforms focusing on reliability, observability, and developer trust.
Comfort creating with AI agents and agentic workflows, including establishing guardrails, managing evaluations, and handling scalability or cost analysis.
Proficiency in systems-level debugging and performance thinking to identify bottlenecks and apply pragmatic fixes.

Nice to Have

Prior knowledge or experience related to building AI tool harnesses and context harnesses.
