Role Overview

Sierra is hiring a Software Engineer to design, build, and scale production-grade AI agents from initial pilot through continuous iteration. Operating out of the London office, this role requires close collaboration with enterprise clients and startups to create reliable systems that transform how businesses operate. Engineers take full ownership of the Agent Development Life Cycle, shaping platform evolution through direct customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver production-grade, reliable, and intuitive AI agents that drive revenue and operational efficiency for major brands.
Drive the complete Agent Development Life Cycle, maintaining total ownership from initial pilot through deployment and ongoing tuning.
Partner directly with leaders at major global enterprises and startups in London to understand complex business needs and embed AI agents across their tech stacks.
Collaborate with research, product, and platform teams to surface unmet customer needs, prototype new tools, and shape future product features.

Requirements

Experience in building and scaling end-to-end production systems.
Strong technical problem-solving abilities suited for fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
A high-agency, builder and tinkerer mindset focused on creative obstacle navigation and shipping code.
Comfort working directly with customers to understand requirements and solve real-world problems.
Excellent, clear, direct, and persuasive communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
Professional fluency in both Spanish and English.

Nice to Have

Experience building or deploying AI and LLM systems in production environments.
Background as a founder or founding engineer balancing craft, ownership, and speed.
Familiarity with modern AI agent tooling, evaluation frameworks, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
Prior practical experience with React, TypeScript, or Go.
Previous roles involving direct customer interfacing or leading technical projects with external stakeholders.
