Sierra is hiring a Software Engineer, Agent for an in-person role located in Madrid. This position suits a creative builder with strong technical problem-solving skills who wants to shape the future of conversational artificial intelligence platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deliver production-grade artificial intelligence agents that run reliable and scalable systems for industries like commerce, healthcare, and finance.
Drive the Agent Development Life Cycle by maintaining complete ownership from initial pilot through deployment and ongoing iteration.
Partner directly with global enterprise leaders and innovative startups to build solutions that scale.
Build the future of the platform by surfacing unmet customer needs, prototyping new tools, and collaborating across research and product teams.
Experiment with emerging voice models and integrate them at scale for enterprise clients.

Requirements

Experience building and scaling end-to-end production systems.
Strong technical problem-solving capabilities within fast-changing and ambiguous environments.
High agency, builder and tinkerer mindset to find creative ways around obstacles and ship products.
Comfort collaborating directly with customers to understand requirements and solve practical challenges.
Excellent communication skills that remain clear, direct, and persuasive for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have

Experience building or deploying artificial intelligence and large language model systems in production environments.
Background as a founder or founding engineer.
Familiarity with modern artificial intelligence tooling, evaluation frameworks, prompt engineering, and retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.
Prior experience working with TypeScript, React, or Go.
Previous roles involving direct customer interfacing or leading technical projects with external stakeholders.
