Senior/Staff Data Scientist - Measurement, Experimentation & Causal Inference
About this role
PlayStation Global needs a Senior or Staff Data Scientist to solve complex measurement challenges where traditional controlled experiments are difficult or impossible to run. In this position, the team builds and scales advanced measurement methodologies, experimentation frameworks, and causal inference models to evaluate products and commercial initiatives impacting millions of players.
Working at the intersection of data science, machine learning, and product strategy, the chosen candidate will design quasi-experimental approaches, statistical models, and machine learning solutions for large-scale digital platforms. They will collaborate directly with engineering, product, and business units to drive evidence-based decision-making and elevate analytical standards across the organization. Ideal candidates bring deep technical expertise in causal inference, strong stakeholder management skills, and a pragmatic approach to ambiguity.
What you will do
- Develop innovative measurement methodologies spanning experimentation, causal inference, and advanced analytics to improve business decision-making quality.
- Design robust measurement approaches across randomized experiments, quasi-experimental methods, and observational causal inference.
- Research, evaluate, and prototype statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques to solve complex real-world measurement challenges.
- Define and promote best practices for experiment design and statistical analysis across multiple product and business teams.
- Partner with engineering teams to influence the evolution of experimentation platforms and ensure statistical best practices are embedded.
- Mentor and develop analysts and data scientists to raise technical capability and analytical excellence across the team.
What you need
- Master's degree or equivalent industry experience in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or another quantitative discipline.
