About this role

The team at PlayStation Global is focused on creating and nurturing the experiences under the PlayStation brand by leveraging advanced AI and agentic systems. This role is central to designing and shipping agentic systems, developer tooling, and reusable platform capabilities intended to significantly boost productivity across the entire engineering organization. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for the deep technical implementation of these complex systems, focusing on orchestration, reliable data access, and improving the efficiency of development workflows.

This position requires a blend of hands-on engineering expertise and technical leadership. The engineer will design and build production-quality agentic applications, focusing on complex tasks like multi-agent orchestration and ensuring reliable interaction with backend systems via defined protocols. A key component of the work involves creating tools and interfaces that allow coding agents to interact safely and effectively with enterprise data. The role exists to bridge the gap between foundational AI research and practical, scalable engineering solutions that directly impact how the development teams operate.

Candidates who thrive in ambiguous problem spaces, can rapidly prototype solutions, and possess strong communication skills to influence technical direction will be well-suited for this role. It is ideal for an experienced individual contributor who enjoys owning the full lifecycle of AI features, from discovery through to production deployment and iteration.

What you will do

  • Design and build production-quality agentic applications utilizing agentic SDKs and harnesses, including multi-agent orchestration and subagent delegation.
  • Develop Model Context Protocol (MCP) tool and resource interfaces to ensure coding agents have safe and reliable access to backend systems and enterprise data.
  • Engineer prompts to generate reliable structured output, incorporating JSON schemas, few-shot examples, and validation/retry loops.
  • Manage context effectively across long documents, multi-turn conversations, and multi-agent handoffs to maintain production reliability.
  • Configure and extend Codex/Claude Code hierarchies, custom commands, and agent skills for team-wide adoption.
  • Integrate agentic development capabilities into CI/CD pipelines for automated code review and test generation.
  • Identify opportunities for reusable AI-assisted development capabilities that can be adopted by multiple teams.
  • Partner with engineering teams to discover pain points and rapidly prototype new AI capabilities into observable, maintainable production systems.

What you need

  • Possesses six or more years of professional software engineering experience, including substantial experience building and operating AI/LLM-powered or agentic applications.
  • Demonstrates strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, Go, Rust, or C++, coupled with solid engineering fundamentals in API design, testing, and debugging.
  • Has practical, production-grade experience with agentic SDKs/harnesses, MCP, and LLMs, covering tool use, RAG, context management, and structured output.
  • Requires experience designing MCP tool/resource interfaces and reasoning about error handling and reliability within multi-agent systems.
  • Must have demonstrated experience integrating AI into CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows.
  • Needs the ability to navigate ambiguous problem spaces, evaluate technical tradeoffs, and make pragmatic engineering decisions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, with proven experience mentoring and leading through influence.

Nice to have

  • Demonstrated expertise across agentic architecture
  • MCP integration experience
  • Codex/Claude Code configuration expertise
  • Experience building multi-agent research or customer support systems
  • Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and GitOps in support of AI/agentic infrastructure
  • Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, and AI evaluation frameworks
  • Contributions to open-source projects involving AI, agentic systems, or developer tooling

Benefits

  • $177,300 — $265,900 USD
