Role Overview

Smartly is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer specializing in AI and automation tools to join the team in the Philippines. This role suits a technical builder who wants to create intelligent workflows and scalable internal systems for a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

Partner closely with the AI Transformation team to productize AI prototypes and integrate agentic capabilities into business processes.
Build, maintain, and scale various internal tools, traditional API-based automations, and complex AI workflows across departments.
Modernize internal systems using a mix of programmatic automations and AI-driven agents to eliminate operational silos.
Own the backend by maintaining and expanding internal microservices architecture built primarily on TypeScript and NodeJS.
Manage and optimize Google Cloud Platform infrastructure to ensure security, high performance, and scalability of internal AI services and tools.
Integrate disparate external and internal services such as Slack, Salesforce, BigQuery, and data warehouses via robust API connections.

Requirements

Possess a versatile technical background in artificial intelligence, data engineering, or software engineering with a proven track record of building automated solutions and data pipelines.
Demonstrate strong proficiency in TypeScript and NodeJS, with Koa or Express experience considered a significant advantage.
Bring practical experience in building AI agentic workflows or Model Context Protocols utilizing Vertex AI, OpenAI, or other LLM application programming interfaces.
Apply advanced prompt engineering techniques to design, test, and iterate on prompts for reliable, structured outputs.
Exhibit deep familiarity with REST application programming interfaces and complex service-to-service integrations.
Work independently to navigate ambiguity, learn new tech stacks, and solve operational problems without constant oversight.
Translate non-technical stakeholder needs into clear, technical requirements that solve real-world challenges.

Nice to Have

Experience utilizing workflow automation platforms such as n8n or Zapier to orchestrate agentic workflows.
Frontend capabilities using React to build or modify admin dashboards for internal user accessibility.
Familiarity with advertising technology APIs including Google Ads, Meta GraphAPI, or TikTok Ads.
