Role Overview

The organization is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Call Guard team in New York, NY. The professional will own major parts of the technical stack, focusing on voice agent design, conversational latency, adversarial robustness, and backend infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

Design and deploy production voice agents that interact with unknown callers, classify intent, and block scams automatically.
Manage core components of the Call Guard real-time voice AI stack and contribute to architectural direction.
Reduce end-to-end conversational latency across speech-to-text, reasoning engines, and text-to-speech systems.
Develop defenses against adversarial AI callers and voice-cloning attacks.
Test and integrate frontier models including large language models and speech frameworks for production use.
Build and maintain telephony, VoIP routing, and cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with product, design, and mobile teams to deliver user experiences.
Maintain code quality through reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.
Utilize AI coding tools daily to increase development speed.

Requirements

Five or more years of production software development experience, focusing on real-time or distributed systems.
Practical experience launching voice or conversational AI products in production environments.
Proficiency with modern voice AI stacks such as Whisper, Deepgram, ElevenLabs, Cartesia, LiveKit, and Pipecat.
Production background working with large language models and agent frameworks like LangChain, LangGraph, or LlamaIndex.
Experience minimizing latency in real-time systems.
Proficiency in Python and Go for building secure backend systems and APIs.
Background in cloud infrastructure using AWS or GCP with containerized deployments.
Experience launching consumer products at scale.
Regular use of AI coding assistants with proper implementation judgment.

Nice to Have

Telephony, VoIP, SIP, or carrier-level call routing background.
WebRTC or real-time media infrastructure knowledge.
Experience in speech recognition, signal processing, or audio engineering.
Familiarity with adversarial machine learning, AI safety, or anti-fraud systems.
