Role Overview

The Senior Design Engineer position at Cloaked involves owning the experience and craftsmanship for the Agents and Automations team in New York or remotely. This full-time role suits a product builder with five or more years of experience who can design and write production code to make automated software feel trustworthy and clear to users.

Key Responsibilities

Own core automation experiences from initial design through shipped front-end code, handling layout, visual hierarchy, and overall quality.
Build animations and micro-interactions that make automated actions and background scans feel clear, alive, and considered.
Design user flows that allow individuals to understand, review, and control automated actions taken on their behalf.
Build educational flows that inform users about how their digital protection is progressing.
Partner directly with engineering teams to translate complex system behavior into secure, trustworthy interfaces.
Implement designs directly in production front-end code and take ownership of the final user-facing result.
Collaborate across the technical stack to connect interfaces with real data and system behavior.
Maintain high standards for aesthetic quality and refine interface copy so the words match the design quality.
Shape shared components and durable workflows to ensure AI-generated code maintains a human-opinionated standard.
Utilize modern AI coding tools fluently to manage parallel agent streams and concurrent workstreams with high velocity.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building and shipping product interfaces with an end-to-end portfolio covering layout, animations, micro-interactions, aesthetic quality, and copy.
Strong front-end implementation skills using technologies such as React.
Demonstrated design taste with the ability to make interfaces feel polished, fast, and intentional.
Experience designing products for complex or automated behaviors where user trust and clarity are paramount.
Comfort operating autonomously within ambiguity and raising standards for surrounding team members.
Daily fluency with AI-assisted development tools and a personal setup for fast, parallel task execution.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have

Live web apps or shipped products available for walk-through.
Background in AI or agentic products, privacy, identity, security, fintech, or consumer products at scale.
Experience using Figma or other modern design software.
Startup background with end-to-end responsibility for both design and implementation.
