Role Overview

Cloaked is hiring a full-time Product Counsel for AI and Financial Services to join the team in New York, NY. This position suits an experienced legal professional who wants to serve as a core legal partner for product, engineering, compliance, and business teams building next-generation privacy and financial technology. The ideal candidate brings strong product counseling instincts to help shape responsible innovation from ideation to launch.

Key Responsibilities

Embed directly with Product, Engineering, Design, and Compliance teams from ideation through launch and ongoing operation for Cloaked Pay and other AI-enabled products.
Advise on novel products and features involving AI-driven workflows, agentic experiences, automated decisioning, personalization, and consumer-facing product claims.
Provide guidance on consumer payments and credit-card regulatory requirements, including Regulation E, GLBA, UDAAP/UDAP, FCRA, BSA/AML concepts, and Nacha requirements.
Lead legal work across the Cloaked Pay ecosystem, including issuing-bank relationships, program managers, processors, tokenization partners, and dispute processes.
Own and negotiate product-enabling commercial agreements such as enterprise contracts, AI/model provider agreements, MSAs, SOWs, and vendor contracts.
Support adjacent corporate and general legal matters like entity formations, corporate records, and governance support.

Requirements

Approximately 7 to 10 years of legal practice with meaningful product-counseling experience and exposure to financial services, payments, banking, fintech, privacy, or AI technology.
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing.
Deep, hands-on consumer financial-services regulatory experience with the ability to translate rules into practical product decisions.
Strong payments or card experience involving card issuing, consumer credit, virtual cards, or sponsor-bank relationships.
Strong commercial contracting ability across enterprise, procurement, and vendor agreements.
Product-lawyer judgment to identify legal issues early and provide clear recommendations.

Nice to Have

In-house product-counsel experience at a fintech, bank, card issuer, payments company, AI company, or consumer technology platform.
Experience supporting consumer credit cards, installment lending, consumer payments, or acquiring products.
Prior law-firm, regulatory, or government experience focused on consumer financial services.
Experience counseling on privacy, cybersecurity, AI governance, or automated systems.
Corporate experience including entity formation and corporate maintenance.

Salary and Benefits
