Senior Software Engineer II, Mobile - Revenue Experimentation (AI Native)
About this role
The Revenue Experimentation team at Life360 builds the growth and monetization engine that drives subscriptions, ads, and in-app purchase flows across a platform serving nearly 100 million monthly active users. This group operates as an AI-native engineering unit, using tools like Claude Code as active collaborators throughout every stage of ideation, coding, and testing.
This Android-first role centers on designing, shipping, and analyzing high-velocity experiments that shape company revenue and mobile functionality. The person joining this team takes ambiguous ideas or rough hypotheses and rapidly transforms them into safe, instrumented experiments running across the application at scale. Success requires deep technical agency, an ownership mindset, and comfort pushing platform boundaries to build across iOS, web, or backend surfaces when necessary.
Ideal candidates thrive in environments where AI acts as a primary workflow component rather than an afterthought. Someone who defaults to shipping and iterative learning, values craft, and enjoys defining engineering playbooks for a broader mobile organization will find a strong fit within this team.
What you will do
- Design and build Android growth and monetization features including subscription paywalls, pricing tests, ad placements, and in-app purchase flows.
- Partner with product, design, and data science to turn hypotheses into shippable experiments and ensure accurate exposure logging and analytics.
- Collaborate with AI tools like Claude Code to orchestrate agents for specification creation, code generation, testing, and reviews.
- Ship performant and reliable mobile experiences while maintaining strong performance standards regarding startup time, memory, battery, and crash rates.
- Take ambiguous ideas and rapidly deliver working versions to users, treating initial iterations as learning tools.
- Define and codify AI-native Android engineering practices and contribute playbooks for adoption across the wider mobile organization.
- Participate in architectural decisions, code reviews, on-call rotations, and incident response for mobile experiments and releases.
What you need
- Bring 6 or more years of Android software engineering experience shipping production applications at consumer scale.
- Demonstrate at least 1 year of hands-on experience prompting, evaluating, and building with large language models.
- Show strong proficiency with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, the Android View system, and the modern Android toolchain.
- Apply deep familiarity with architecture patterns like MVVM, MVI, and Clean Architecture within large multi-team codebases.
- Understand mobile experimentation concepts such as feature flagging, A/B testing, exposure logging, and guardrail metrics.
- Possess solid grounding in mobile performance diagnostics using tools like Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto, and Crashlytics.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or have equivalent practical experience.
Benefits
- Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) for equity compensation
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Financial and other employee benefits
