Menlo Security is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join the Threat Protection and ShadowAI team based in Bangalore, India. This full-time role suits an experienced developer with a background in building scalable distributed systems and cloud applications.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, the selected professional will design and deliver services that help users securely browse the web and manage generative AI usage. Working within the R&D department, the engineer owns features from initial design to production operations while maintaining service reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and own new features for the Threat Protection and ShadowAI product area.
Build highly available and scalable distributed systems, APIs, and asynchronous applications.
Create detection and policy capabilities that provide visibility into generative AI and unsanctioned web applications.
Operate the production platform using dashboards, metrics, and AI-assisted log analysis to resolve issues swiftly.
Utilize AI code assistants and automated test generation to accelerate development workflows while ensuring code security and correctness.
Collaborate with product, security, and cross-functional partners to determine project schedules and requirements.
Perform code reviews, write unit tests, and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance product offerings.

Requirements

Three to five years of professional software development experience using Python, NodeJS, or Go.
Three to five years of hands-on experience working with cloud services such as AWS or GCP.
Practical working knowledge of Linux and standard version control tools like git.
A degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, such as a BE, BTech, or Master degree.
Practical fluency in utilizing AI coding and debugging assistants with sound judgment.
Self-directed problem-solving abilities to master unfamiliar systems with minimal guidance.

Nice to Have

Experience designing large-scale web applications and REST APIs.
Familiarity with complex data structures and database technologies.
Knowledge of containerization tools including Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with cloud infrastructure automation using Terraform.
Background in the Tornado web application framework and test automation.
Experience improving engineering methodologies like test-driven development and continuous delivery.
Prior exposure to security domains, threat detection, or AI safety and governance.
