Menlo Security is hiring a Senior Software Engineer I to join the R&D team located in APAC, India. This full-time role suits an independent backend developer who wants to design, build, and operate scalable cloud services while utilizing modern AI-assisted engineering tools.

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer I, the individual will take full ownership of designing, building, and operating critical Menlo services from initial concept through production. Working closely with product, security, and operations groups, the engineer will deliver reliable features that scale effortlessly within a distributed platform architecture. The engineering workflow incorporates AI-assisted development tooling, including pair-programming assistants, debugging utilities, and code-review platforms, enabling team members to accelerate delivery and enhance system resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Build, deploy, and manage core components of the Menlo Security platform to meet performance and roadmap objectives.
Architect and implement new features and services tailored for scalable, highly available distributed systems and asynchronous applications.
Utilize AI-powered pair-programming and code-review utilities to speed up implementation, generate thorough tests, and streamline review cycles.
Apply AI-assisted debugging tooling to quickly diagnose and resolve production issues across distributed environments.
Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, security, and operations teams to align schedules and operational requirements.

Requirements

Possess 3 to 4 years of professional experience in cloud computing or related technical fields, featuring hands-on backend development in languages such as Python, C++, Node.js, or Go.
Hold a BE, B.Tech, or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline.
Bring solid working knowledge of Linux operating systems and core networking technologies.
Demonstrate practical experience with standard cloud platforms like AWS (such as EC2, S3, VPC) or GCP, along with development tools like Git, Jira, Confluence, and Jenkins.
Familiarity with complex data structures, databases, and analytics technologies including Postgres, MySQL, Redis, or Druid.
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a self-directed approach to learning.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with Linux networking internals, system monitoring, boot processes, and container technologies like Docker, cgroups, runc, or libcontainer.
Experience refining engineering practices such as test-driven development, continuous delivery, and scrum automation.
Prior comfort incorporating AI coding assistants into a daily modern development routine.
